TIC operates its own high capacity SMS gateway. The SMS (short message system) Termination Service enables customers to send text messages to any mobile phone user (national and international) from their own LAN, mail server, or through the Internet. This service is significantly cheaper as compared to sending an SMS from one mobile phone to another. Writing SMS text is made quick and easy as a PC keyboard is used to the enter text. The SMS Termination Service is particularly ideal for sending mass SMS messages.

How does the SMS Termination Service work?
A web interface (intra, extra or Internet) is used to enter and send SMS text (160 characters max.), the recipient‘s number, the sender‘s number and SMS distribution settings to TIC‘s SMS gateway.

The SMS gateway checks syntax, authenticates the customer and sends the message to TIC‘s Preferred Mobile Operators to deliver the SMS to the recipient. The recipient‘s mobile phone generally receives the SMS within 10 - 20 seconds after it is sent. If the recipient‘s mobile phone number is not recognized, the SMS gateway sends an error notification back to the sender (via the web interface).

What features does the SMS Termination Service offer?
In addition to the features described above, it is also possible to send binary files. This capability enables images and ring tones
to be sent via SMS to mobile phones from your own LAN or through the Internet. Moreover, it is also possible to send SMS
messages directly from an E-mail application (e.g. Microsoft Outlook) and to integrate the recipient‘s mobile phone number
with the E-mail address in the SMS gateway.
